The course begins with one week of dynamic, interactive classroom learning. This includes plant tours that demonstrate course theories in action. By the end of the week students will develop a Lean Improvement Project for their worksite where they will apply classroom learning to a real-life, results-oriented, sustainable project.

Students return to work for eight weeks to implement the project, supported by their Definity Partners mentor. At the end of eight weeks they return to the classroom to further examine key principals and to present their projects. Students critique each other, evaluate their success and calculate the ROI of their results.
