Lean Certification ROI

Gain in-depth insights and practical knowledge about essential Lean Principles with Definity University's Lean Certification Program. This practical application begins with one week of dynamic, interactive classroom learning, supplemented with live plant tours that demonstrate course theories in action. Throughout your first week, a plan for a Lean Improvement Project will be developed, through which you will apply classroom learning into a real-life, sustainable, results-oriented project which you will implement at your company over the following -10 weeks. A final week of classroom instruction further examines key principals, evaluation of Lean Improvement Projects, analyzes annual Project savings and ROI, and finalizes a plan approach for sustaining the Project's success and sustaining the implementation of the Lean tools.

Lean Certification graduates walk away from the Definity University program with proven tools, skills and techniques that can be applied to real-world challenges.

Best Practices Applied to Your Specific Challenges:
After gaining a thorough understanding of core business improvement principals through classroom instruction, the Lean Improvement Project applies the theory to your actual organizational challenges. This portion of the certification process validates your understanding of lean principals through practical application of the knowledge.

The Lean Improvement Project is a test to validate your understanding of the knowledge and tools. The experience of planning, executing and implementing a Project, on-site, at your company turns theory into action and maximizes the retention of the newly acquired knowledge.

To ensure progress and accountability, you will develop and deliver weekly e-mail updates outlining Lean Improvement Project progress to:

  • The Definity Partners' Course Instructor
  • Definity Partners' Education Coordinator
  • The candidate's designated Definity Partners' Project Manager
  • Your Sponsor
  • The other members of their class

The updates serve multiple purposes. First, and most obvious, they inform key stakeholders about your Lean Improvement Project progress. Second, they help peers benchmark against one another, since participants get everyone's update each week. It will also serve as a forum to identify where and when problems or issues in a project arise. This enables others to step in, offer advice, share similar circumstances, etc. Finally, the updates help keep you accountable as they are required for certification.

Recapping Key Learning and Setting the Stage for Sustainable Improvements
At the conclusion of the Lean Improvement Project you return to the classroom, review key learnings and map out plans to sustain the success you've achieved on your Project and to deploy strategies for continuous improvement. The true power of the Definity University Lean Certification Program is the actual application of improvements and cost savings for your business.
