Definity Partners Announces Definity University Scholarship Competition Winner
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CINCINNATI—July 21, 2009 - Talbert House, a local non-profit organization, will soon have the opportunity to become more efficient in their operations. Definity Partners announced today Talbert House as the recipient of the Definity University Scholarship Competition that was extended to area non-profits. As the winner of this inaugural event, Talbert House will participate in a free Lean Certification Program offered through Definity University, the training division of Definity Partners.
The Lean Certification Program, valued at $12,500, gives in-depth insight and practical knowledge of proven lean and continuous improvement principles. The program, which lasts eight to ten weeks, combines interactive classroom learning with live facility tours and culminates with implementing a Lean Improvement Project at their organization. Graduates are able to independently sustain improvements within their respective organizations.
“We are thrilled to be the first recipient of the scholarship from Definity Partners,” said Nancy Missall, Controller of Talbert House. “As a result of this program, we hope to bring greater efficiency to our Finance Department so that we can better serve our clients and deliver added value to our services. We are a very complex organization and refining our internal processes will enable us to better serve our internal and external customers.”
Talbert House is a Greater Cincinnati nonprofit social service agency that serves 25,000 men, women and children each year. The agency provides assessment, prevention, treatment and reintegration services in the fields of community corrections, mental health, substance abuse and welfare-to-work.
As part of their Lean Certification Program, Talbert House has outlined a specific project that will increase their business efficiency. Definity Partners will analyze and review the processes for collection of billing information at the point of service and identify steps required to ensure financial stability. As a result, Talbert House will have a shorter billing cycle, better cash flow and a lower bad debt allowance and will ultimately allow them to respond better to the needs of those they serve.
“We are pleased to announce Talbert House as the winner of our Scholarship Competition,” said Tara Amis, Education Coordinator for Definity Partners. “Through our partnership, we hope to aid Talbert House in addressing immediate challenges in their financial procedures. These efforts will eventually allow them to achieve greater financial stability and will be poised to create and maintain sustainable change.”
