Definity University Lean Certification Scholarship ProgramTo help offset the challenges of today's economic times, Definity Partners is launching the Definity University Scholarship Competition -- an exciting program to help Cincinnati's charitable community address the demands of the marketplace and build new levels of success. The scholarship provides free participation in Definity University's Lean Certification program - a $12,500 value that delivers ongoing returns. The Lean Certification Program offers in-depth insight and practical knowledge for implementing essential lean principles for your non-for-profit organization. The program is designed to achieve sustainable results in the attendee's organization by identifying a specific internal process that needs improvement, then allowing the attendees to implement lean initiatives independently. During the first week of the program, attendees participate in interactive classroom learning and live facility tours. After the week is up, each participant returns to his or her organization to independently execute a Lean Improvement Project for eight to 10 weeks. The program closes with a final week of classroom learning, where attendees reflect on improvement efforts and ensure they have the knowledge and skills to independently implement future lean initiatives. To apply for this not-for-profit scholarship, please submit a completed application to my attention by Wednesday, July 3 at 3:00 p.m. One organization will be selected and invited to participate in the Definity University Lean Certification session running Aug. 17, 2009 to Aug. 21, 2009, with the second classroom session operating from Nov. 9, 2009 to Nov. 13, 2009.
